Default Why is this stuff so much $$$$

I am new to the vette scene and have been dressing my car pretty much as everyone else. Some of the stuff seems reasonable but some of this stuff is way over priced.

Engine dress up kit $500 or so good price I think
Brushed aluminum engine caps $275 crazy and the fit like doo doo Why are they not real caps anyway ??
Rear light spears $290 to $390 for those please !
License plate frame chrome $200
Side grills with spears $390 Ditto
OEM C6 Chrome rims $975 I think a GOOD deal but finish is questionable.
Radio ***** $40 to $60 Ok I guess
Front Grill $250 to $300 Very close to a
The list goes on join in if you wish but of course I am paying for it as well as you. This stuff you just have to have correct
Should we even get into the wax and fiber towel stuff

You can have the engine dress parts done yourself at any good paint shop for half or less than the purchase price for replacements....presuming you want body color. The fuel rail covers, radiator shrouds, fuse box cover & coolant overflow tank all come off easily.

A doodad, fluff, some trinkets that you simply slap on the rear tail lights to look like it has a 'grill' or something, I personally never 'got it'.
Curb feelers fall into the same category IMO.

In my opinion, most of this stuff is "bling bling" crap that makes the car look cheap ... Save your money for performance parts or gas or new tires and drive the crap out of it instead ....

I often wonder if the owners that put some of this stuff on their cars still find themselves laughing at the ricer Honda Civics with the fart can exhausts, neon underlighting and 'park bench sized' wings off the back...I mean I laugh too but I would just find that kind of ironic LOL.
