The results of those Consumer Reports come from subscriber like me that fill out the survey they sent. I have had my C6 since January and since that time have had the following problems.....
1. Erratic Fuel reading ( Replaced fuel sender card left tank )
2. Service traction control ( Replaced switch in steering column )
3. Check gas cap ( Replaced ECM module )
4. Noise in differential when turning left or right ( Replaced differential fluid and added 4oz of friction modifier )
That is a lot of things going wrong in such a short time in an Automobile costing $58,000
If the Dealership from which I bought the car was not so outstanding in the service they provide I might feel differently however I love the car and would buy another from this dealer should I ever get the urge.
There were 4 other cars in the same category as Corvette that were rated worse. Note that in the article for which a link was provided, they were in order by score, worst first.
Their opinion was based on surveys from 4 million magazine subscribers and readers.
American cars has nothing to do with their rating. American manufacturers have been guilty of making poor cars for years, although they're getting better.

NEVER liked Corvettes? Don’t really care for American cars?
Nonsense!!! Their ratings are based on consumer’s responses. Last year CR rated the Corvette very well. It made it to their top ten list of the most recommended autos and was still listed as such in the spring of this year. Reading so many threads about how many people were very pleased and experiencing little to no problems, I posted a thread back in the spring recommending that those satisfied with their C6, report their satisfaction to CR. I supplied details about the rating at the time and provided a link with details on how to rate their cars. I for one, wanted to see the high rating continued. Not one single person responded to my thread.

Agree 100%! First off, I didn't buy my Corvette thinking it was going to be perfectly reliable. I also own a Chrysler 300C SRT-8. Again, when has Chrysler ever made a reliable product? Never that I can remember. Do I care? No, but no one else makes anything to compete with the SRT-8, nor does anyone make anything that competes with the Corvette (talking price points here).
I know who does make reliable cars, and I've owned them, but until a car can be "sick and wrong fast and fun" AND be reliable AND be reasonably priced, I'll continue buying fun cars that may or may not be all that reliable.
I have a Lexus with 30,000 plus miles and have had a grand total of zero problems with it...it's only been to the dealer for routine services. Unfortunately, I don't expect this to be the case with my Corvette, but I'm buying it anyway...for completely different reasons. The Lexus is my 'practical' vehicle. The Corvette will be my 'fun' vehicle. I have a feeling I am not alone in this conscious decision.
CR rates the C6 low, JD power rates it high. Pick whichever one you want as they are both biased (only people with problems tend to report to CR).
As for me: 1 episode of DBS in 14 months. Bought a Nissan Armada about 4 months ago and I stopped counting the problems after about a dozen. So much for "Japanese quality".
From: Just another gray haired old fart in a Corvette.
I’ve had mine for 4 weeks and 1000 miles and was feeling cocky about it being flawless. After washing it this morning I now have a “Service Ride Control” message ever time I start the car. I was on the fence about an extended warrantee but no longer.
