Default New vs Used

I need your help. I am in the U.S. Army serving in Iraq. I will be purchasing a corvette when I return to the U.S. What is the general feeling of buying a new C6 or a used one? The cost seems to drop if it vehicle is not new as everyone knows. I want to go new, straight out of the box, but the price is very temping for nice used one. Owning corvette has been my dream for over 30 years and now I am finally in a position to buy new if there is more of an advantage of it other than no one has driven the vehicle before. Thanks for your support. By the way, I read the forum daily.

First, soldier, thank you for what you are doing for us and Iraq.

Cars, if you can afford it, I'd say go with a new one. That way you get exactly what you want and not someone else's problems. On the other hand, if you are going to be a little strapped by getting a new one, go used, but shop wisely. Myself, I still have a soft spot for the C5, I like their looks a tad better than the C6. However, the C6 is a fantastic ride. It is a little smaller then the C5 and that feature has been growing on me. I bought my C6 last April and have rolled over 16,000 miles on it.

that you for all you and your friends are doing for us and the world.
thank you in not nearly enough. be smart and safe god bless the USA

it all depends if you can afford it or not..new is always the best way to go but there is a lot of great C5's out there if you do go used get the 03 great car I almost bought one before my new one low miles are out there. I saw one 4100 miles vert for like $39,000.00 was like new so just look for a good deal.
Good Luck
and God bless

Thanks for your sacrafice.......... return home safely

Buy used ......... let someone else take the depreciation hit. Why struggle financially when you get home? There are many individuals such as myself that buy a new vette every three years. Every three years I sell my vette for 30 to 35% less than what I paid for it ( exclusive of financing costs ) They are always in great shape, look and smeel almost new, have less than 24K miles on them, have an extended warranty and a new set of rubber makes them perfect. My 05, C6, fully loaded 54K car will sell for approximately 33K to 35k. Thats a very nice savings for a car that will not change significantly for a couple of more years, looks great and is mechanically still in it's infintcy.

Son, you are serving your country as many of us once did. Thank you for this and God bless you this Thanksgiveing and always. When you finish your tour and come home, treat yourself to the best the US has to offer and buy it new. You deserve it an maybe there is a dealer out there that appreciates a soldier and will cut you some slack.

As the rest have said....Thank you for guarding our wall!

I'm not sure if you know your return date ( and I hope it's soon for you) but there are still some 05s on the lots that are being discounted significantly. A friend of mine just purchased a new loaded 05 vert with power top for 51K OTD.

It makes no sense to buy a new car from a financial stance, only you can decide if the extra 10K will change your life any.
If it won't, treat yourself, you deserve it!

Default Thanks

I really appreciate everyone kind comments. I am leaning towards a new one, but I have not made up mind yet. I got until the spring to make a decision. Everyone has given me good food for thought. From the International Zone in Baghdad, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support.

I agree, go out of the box, NEW! Nothing like having new all to yourself. What a great feeling.
