Valve stem problem?

Valve stem problem?
Have a '05 vert that has a strange problem with the left front tire. A normal gas station air pump will not put air in the tire. A tire air gage will not register the pressure. I think its a defective valve stem. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks guys - I'll ck to see if there is some foreign matter in the stem if not I'll go by my friendly Good Year dealer for a new stem.

Did you put on after market valve caps.I put on the ones that need a gadget to remove them.On one of my valve stems a o ring from the cap got stuck in the valve and caused me the same problem until I removed the stuck o ring

Sounds like a damaged valve core. Any self respecting tire store should give you one and put it in for you for free (may take 10 seconds to replace and another 20 seconds to put the proper air back in). I doubt anything is wrong with the stem itself if it isn't obviously damaged.
