I had my name first on the list for a Z06,then they said no auto.. If nothing changes in 07 i will sell out ! and find some exocit ricer.. I,m tired of GM,s S--t. han feeding us like they have the only game in town. All the money we spend with them, they should be kissing our feet insted of ignoring us..(but i will keep my Vettes)
"exotic" sportscars don't come in automatic. Now, if GM decides to do a paddle shift like Ferrari's F1 or BMW's SMG, then that would be acceptable...just as long as manual is still an option.

I think the general theme in exotic sportcars are to have manual trannies.
If you are fixed on the performance of a Z06 but want to the automatic - you can get there for a lot less money with mods
I did the math ($$) between modding my C6 and trading it in for a z06 - I can at least get the hp/tq for a fraction of the price.
I also would like to see the Z06 offered with the paddles. I am sure they would sell. It would be an option, so everyone could get what they want. I could be wrong but doesnt the C6 with auto outsell the MN6?

I'm sure not having an automatic available is for a couple reasons. The first one is that so many people feel that an all out Performance car should ONLY be equipped manual transmissions. I'm not one of those people because I know a car equipped with an automatic can certainly perform very well. You must have seen on this very forum, the number of owners that have expressed that you don't have a 'vette' unless it has a 6 speed.
The other reason for not installing the automatic behind a 505 HP engine is simply that perhaps they don't have a tranny strong enough to handle the load FOR A REASONALBE COST that is.
Would you be willing to pay $3000 to $4000.00 to get an automatic in the Z06? That might be what it will take. I ran a drag race car with 570 HP and an automatic tranny. That transmission cost me $3800.00 and well worth it.

By looking at your profile pictures, I now see why you need an automatic. My hats off to you sir for having a Vette in the first place!
No automatic option on Vipers or Lambos either. I would be very suprised if they offered an auto on the Z06, even if it were a paddle shift.
Both Lamborghini models (Gallardo & Murcielago) have been offered with automatics since 2004. And if Dodge thought for a second they could expand their user base by offering an automatic Viper, trust me they would.
gm dealers(i'm on my 5th vette&will always own one) do not offer the
the white glove serivce that you'd get from a MB dealer(&frankly a lot of bs is always what I've gotten-before we even start talking $$). We are the devoted vette buyers and frankly I get treated better buying a lawn mower. did my paper work yesterday for a 06z51 and asked the sales rep where I could find a soda in his dealership. pointed me to a vending machine. 50+ large for new coupe and they wouldn't even bother to grap their customer a 50 cent soda...
The words "Z06" and "automatic" hardly go together!
The Z06, like most high performance sports cars of any consequence, only come in manual. If enough folks complained about it, that could change - maybe to a paddle configuration. I just don't see the point though.

I like to have full control of my vechile, manual's the only way to go. It really angers me that 90% of new Ferrari's have the F1 shifter. I really could care less is it's a tenth of a second faster, its boring to hit a button to shift. I like to drive, that's why I love the vette ! Just my $0.02

Thank you.. I won,t respond to the rest of the replys that seem to think if you want auto that you lack somthing or you dont have the ***** for a stick. I hear this cheap garbage all the time here.
I just posted this in the other thread where you threatened to leave GM if they don't offer an automatic in the Z06.
The cheapest car who's performance comes close to the Z06 with an automatic is the Mercedes S65. It's $180,000. You might want to think about going back to work
Thank you.. Think i,ll take a serious look. money is no option,an mabe the guys on their forum are not so nasty when legitimate questions are submitted.
