I've used a tinting shop for years and the work has ben great. I took my C6 coupe and the installer nearlly fiinted. He said the conture of the rear glass was as difficult as any car on the market. He went ahead and installed the rear, but it's looks like crap. Took him 5.5 hours to get it intalled. He's willing to work out the problem, and I hope he does. If it can't be repaired to look good I'm going to have it removed.
I really believe in these guys, but can't put up with a bad looking tint.
My tinter finished my C6 in less than an hour and a half. The C6 can't be any harder than a C5 and I had all 4 of my C5s done there as well. All perfect except around the dots, but that is expected and can be worked out after the tint is on. Sounds like your tinter just hasn't seen many C5/C6s in his shop yet.
My tinter has a method that works perfectly on the C6 dots.
He uses computer software on a plotter to laser-cut the tint film. He applies the entire sheet to the hatch glass. Then 2 days later, he comes to your location and finishes the work on the dots. First he cuts out the part covering the dots. He then takes a long time to mask that area, and applies 3 coats of black engine enamel to cover the dot area. He's been in the business for 26 years and really took his time to make it look perfect. No overspray, no "gray patches" or condensation.
I'm glad this thread got started. Is it possible to do the rear window in one piece, or did they join two separate sheets and try to hide the join behind a defrost line?

I tinted mine 2 weeks ago and the tinter did the back in one piece it is not perfect but doesn't look to bad from a distance. It took him about 3 hours to do it. The final result was pretty good for the price.
