Several forum members write to me and are always interested in what's new with my car situation. These are great guys and I really enjoy their mail and the fact that they are always around for me.
I haven't been on the forum since my C6 came in without the NAV. If you read back through my threads, Criswell wrecked my C5 and then messed up my C6 order. Since then, it's been scratched during repairs and a local dealer repainted the trunk and rear fenders--did a great job. Then it was keyed while on vacation and recently a guy let his car roll into mine while I was washing it. I've decided just to start banking the money and buy what I want later.
Winter has hit in Maryland with a vengence and it will be in my garage for a while. Only just turned 5000 miles.
The only major problem I've had is the active handling system. It wasn't working when I got it and I still have problems with it. Other than that, a rear axle leak and minor issues with the radio volume control, outside temp gauge is not very responsive (sometimes an hour before it registers) and the trunk lid has never been aligned properly and a local dealer is having a hard time getting it aligned.
Loved having the top down this summer. Awesome experience. Driving a vette is great anytime, but a convertible in the summer--well, not much else like it. Unfortunately, to and from vacation, when my daughter went with me--two women--no way could I put the top down.
I don't have much luck keeping the swirls out of the black paint. I use all the right products, towels, zaino, but I get those darn swirl marks occasionally.
Snow and ice today, so I'm staying in until tomorrow. I'll look in on the vette every now and then until spring. Love the heated seats!
Sorry but that sounds like one jinxed car. Why don't you do yourself a favor, sell the damn thing and get another new one or an '05 with low mileage-that shouldn't be too hard to do right now. Sounds like that car truely has a black cloud hanging over it. Not to be too negative but can't you see the writing on the wall? Some cars, nothing, and I mean nothing ever goes wrong with them, while others, well, just look in your garage.
Good luck

Have to agree with you. However, imagine how much money I'd lose selling it now. I truly wish I could have sold it right after I got it and gone to Kerbecks or Koons and gotten what I ordered. Money is always a consideration for a working single Mom.
If the dealer has repeatedly tried to fix the trunk alignment and failed, then you may qualify for a buy back under the lemon law. If you do consider trying that aproach, you will need to have the issue and repair attempts well documented.
