Well 05 C6 1SB Z51 Man have been reading about your DBS for months now All I could say then has never happened to me. Yea right. Went to move the car for washing . Dead as a door nail. Got the charger on it for a while. Finally started and got the column lock message. Shut it off and the restart the column lock went away. Now the windows will not shut when you get out and close the doors any ideas?
You have to go through the window indexing reset procedure after the battery goes dead. Put window down some, hold power window switch up for three seconds after window closes, release power window switch and then hold up for another three seconds. Repeat for second window. Window indexing will be restored.
I had 13 months of trouble free service until my car woke up dead 5 weeks ago. I now keep my driver's side window down a couple of inches when the car is in the garage. The indexing was a pain with a dead battery since it made it nearly impossible to close the door again.
The good news is that since then, the car has been totally normal and I've had no other problems. It just sat for 9 days though 20 below zero temperatures and started right up yesterday. Wish I knew why it happened though.

i found it interesting, even though it's probably not the cause for the c6, that there is a tsb for the escalade? for dbs. seems if onstar can't make the call for a 'vehicle alert event' that the car won't shut down and the battery will drain.

Only problem is that C6's with and without OnStar have DBS at about the same rate according to a poll I did a few months ago. I started mine up just to warm it up for a while the other day (had been sitting about a month) and while I sat in the car, I realized that DBS is going to be near impossible to find. While I sat there, I heard so many relays clicking and clacking and so many electronic on/off sounds that I finally realized how full of electronics this car really is. Each time I heard a new sound, I realized that DBS could be caused by any one of them. Sitting there while it warmed up listening to the mechanical sounds the car makes, it sounded almost like the Terminator at the end of the first movie when it was crawling through that hydraulic press.
