that will probably look pretty good. i would be trying to get it as close to the old placement as possible. gonna go look at some old stingrays and see where they were.

Moving it back would give a "truer relationship" to the location on the C3 cars. The years that had the "script" were mounted above the "cove" Difference between the C6 and the C3 is that the C3 had a much longer distance from the back of the wheel well to the door and the cove (much longer) was almost centered in that distance, making the script about centered. I moved mine up to get more balance, but the location is purely subjective. I just think it enhances the side of the C6 and offers a bit of "nostalgia"
I had a '69 Vette. That was a Stingray. I currently have an '02 and an '06. They are not Stingrays.
Did the "emblem" make your 69 a "Stingray" or was it something else that the 69 had over the 68 which didn't carry the "Stingray" emblem ???
1968 = Corvette
1968 + Stingray Emblem = 1969 Stingray?

With all due respect, I believe what made a Stingray a Stingray was this guy working for GM a while back . . . what WAS his name? Oh yeah, Zora Arkus-Duntov.

Lest we forget. Thanks Zora.

agree. but he did have a point...the only factor that distinguished the two years was the badging (if my research serves me correctly). as such, badging a 2005 corvette with the stingray badge makes it as much a stingray as any other 'ray.
still, i think that rebadging means that you have done something to your vette which distinguishes it from other corvettes, so much so, that it deserves its own badging. if GM decided to call the C6 Z06 a Stingray...i would have had no complaints. its different...and better

Sorry, if it appeared I was taking a shot at RBYCC, I was just using his quote. Sorry, RBYCC, nothing personal there.
Although I like the Stingray script, and the example on the Silver C6 looks fantastic, it all boils down to one thing . . . . They're a LOT of fun!! YeeHaa!
Uh oh . . . I can't resist this . . . help . . . stop me . . . too . . . weak.
So since my brother had a Stingray when he was 10, does this mean we're driving Schwinns? (oooh, I'm gonna' pay for that one. Sorry, Dave)

'69- 350 CI

NOT REALLY !!
The 1963- Corvette, known as the Sting Ray, had its roots in a prototype racing car of the late '50s. Arkus-Duntov created a Corvette-based racer he called the Sebring SS in 1957, with a 310bhp engine, magnesium alloy body, steel spaceframe chassis and DeDion rear axle with independent suspension, but due to the AMA competition ban, Chevrolet did not pursue the project for a while. Bill Mitchell revived it a couple of years later to make a single special-order car for Dick Thompson, which performed credibly in the 1959 and 1960 SCCA championships; this car became known as the Stingray. The car came back to Mitchell in 1962, and he used it as his own personal road car, which shaped the development of the C2 production model. Another influence was the Mako Shark I concept car of 1962, which experimented with a coupe body style.
To further confuse the issue is it "Sting Ray" as on the C2 or "Stingray" as the C3 appears ?
