I believe that when the Stingray name was used, all Vettes were Stingrays. I think there were no other upgrades. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Depends what you mean as "upgrade"
The 63-67 C2 and the 68-72 C3 were basically sold "ala carte".
In any given year you could choose 3-4 motors, 2-3 transmissions, a few suspensions, and some esoteric stuff like hood scoops, side exhausts, heater delete and true knock off wheels. GM didn't bundle stuff in option groups like they do now. For instance, the hood scoop came with the big block, but you could order it with a small block, and a few were ordered that way

Of course, there were lots of options, including engines and tranny's, but they were all Stingrays, right?

YES, NO AND MAYBE....HOW'S THAT FOR BEING DEFINITIVE?
C2 Gen 1963-1967 were all badged and called "STING RAY" ( two words)
C3 Gen 1968-1982 were all called "STINGRAY" (one word), but only 1969-1977 were badged with "STINGRAY".
That's why I have no problem putting a "STINGRAY" badge on my 06 C6.
GM is fickled, so what do you expect from me ?????
So if badging means so much, does that indicate that the 06 with the "GM" badge differs from the 05 without same ????
