oil changes??

I always did it at 3000 miles with all my C5s, but only because my dealer gave free oil changes for a year. They stopped that policy so now I'll follow the manual and do them sometime between 50% and 25% on the DIC.

Changed at 500 mi. I will now drain every 5K. Staying with Mobil 1. The shop I use only charges me $ 10 labor. It gives me a chance to get under the car and clean out all the spider webs and mouse nests.

3) percentage oil life by the gauge in the car? NO!!!
4) other favorite rule? At least yearly regardless of mileage.
I did a first change at 500, then at 2000. I am now doing 7000 or one year, whichever comes first. NOT going by my DIC!

I run my oil 8000 to 10000 miles before changing it and the UPF filter. I also use Mobil 1 5w/30 in my 1990 Toyota truck. I run it 12000 miles between changes. It does not use any oil and it has 130000 miles on the clock.
