Default oil changes??

just a opinion poll, when do most of you change the oil?

1) do you follow the "3000" mile rule?

2) every 3 months rule?

3) percentage oil life by the gauge in the car?

4) other favorite rule?

i had the first change done at 1500 miles w/ a magnetic drain bolt put in. i bought race ramps and plan on doing it myself from now on. i'm at 76% of life on the indicator and have 3700 miles since last change. just curious to see what others are doing.

Mine is at 76% with 2700 miles since the last oil change. Different driving conditions will make everyones percentage different.

I changed mine at 1100 miles. Post break-in change. I plan on changing at every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 as I have done with previous cars. 5000 will probably be much sooner than required by the DIC.

I did the first change myself and will continue to do so. It is a very easy DIY job. It costs about 1/3 what a dealer would charge and it's fun to work on the car.

First one was at 1500 miles (or so). I'm now at 7000 and will be changing oil monday morning. It's way too soon according to the DIC, but I just feel better.

First one was at 1800. The others will be between 5000-7500 miles.

1st change under 1000 miles.

Subsequent changes every 2000 miles or annually (Garage Queen).

Mobil 1 5W30 and AC Delco UPF 44 Ultra filter.

Brute RaceRamp XTs.

Laying under your new C6 watching the expensive, lightly used synthetic drip from the pan - $ Priceless $.

1st change at about 3000 miles on Wednesday ( since I am taking the Vette in for the power steering hose recall anyway). Thereafter when the DIC says to, or every year.

With Synthetic oil, the oil will definitely last longer than 3K miles, just make sure you are purchasing good quality oil filters, they are the ones keeping all the junk out of your engine. I get K&N!

I am going to change mine at 1,500 miles and every 5,000 miles thereafter. I like the K&N filter best too. If there are a couple back to back long trips I believe you could easily go up to 8,000 miles before changing. For some reason Mobil 1 doesnt get as dirty and ugly looking as dinosaur oils. I change mine myself too.

I have 420 miles on the c6. I might do the first one around 1000 miles.
Regularly, I go somewhere between 4k and 5k between changes. I will probably do the same with my C6.
