Default Convertable top question

OK how many of you Vert owners reset the release handle when you lower the top?
I was watching the top go down and then the cover starts lowering and contacts the top handle showing a bulge in the cover as it pushes the top down. If I unlock the top and then raise it a small amount and then relock the handle into the top the bulge goes away.

I always reset the handle (to the locked position) before lowering the top. When I raise the top, I reset it to unlocked after raising the top, from inside the car, so it's one motion again: turn it to unlocked, pull it onto the windshield header, turn it to locked.

Yep--I always reset the handle to the locked position. No particular reason, it just seemed like the right thing to do.

if you are talking about the manual top you have to reset it or it will bang on the tonnoue cover when you try to close it. There is a foam piece there but it will close a lot better with the handle reset.

I have never returned the handle to the locked position. I guess I had better start paying attention to this. Thanks.
