automatic volume control?
I had this feature on my 94' and 00' it worked flawlessly not so on the 05'.

Today I played with it again while siting at a stop light. When I turned the auto vol on, the volume went down. When I turned the auto vol off, the volume went up. But when I'm driving, I still have to manualy adjust the volume as cabin/road noise increases or decreases.

Mine either. It's a little snowy here today so thought I would test out my Nav system to see if I could burn some MP-3's and get it to play. Well I used Musicmatch version 10.0 and burned about 6 cd's on to the disk. Bingo it played in my Cambridge Soundworks kitchen player and in my Pioneer Elite DVD player. Next went out to my C6 and plopped the disc into my player(urb, born on 26 Jan 05), Whoops, didn't recognize the disc. I think what I will do, is have Mr. Badwrench install a new unit because the automatic volume control doesn't work, then hopefully I'll get a unit which plays MP-3's and a new NAV disc to boot. Hey, it's worth a try, they've already put a bad fuel gauge, faulty top and bad battery in this thing, may as well try to get them to fix the faulty Blose radio.

I really love the car, but I defintely seem to have a lot of issues:
Heated Seat buttons do nothing (no lights, no effect)
Traction Control button does nothing (no DIC message, does not activate/deactivate)
Home Link does not transmit (my opening has an indicator for signal reception and nothing shows)
AVC works backwards (as mentioned above)
and a REALLY irritating rattle over my left shoulder as the stereo is playing.
Taking her in this week and we'll see if they actually fix anything. Not hopeful on the AVC. Expect them to tell me that there is nothing wrong.
), and I -do- turn the auto vol on when sitting in the driveway at no road/wind noise levels, as per manual instructions (2006 manual, 3-80). Should have figured something was wrong when the button only toggles between ON and OFF. The manual says it should cycle through AUTO VOLUME MIN, AUTO VOLUME MED, AUTO VOLUME MAX, and AUTO VOLUME OFF.
On p 3-81, manual says "If your vehicle has the Bose(r) audio system...(blah-blah-blah)", and refers to an "AudioPilot(r)" system, which just has AVOL ON and AVOL OFF, which is exactly what I see on my non-NAV radio display. But 3 paragraphs later, it also says "This button is not available on the radio with the Six-Disc CD."
Guess what? My non-NAV radio has the built-in (non-external) 6-disc player. My build sheet says I have "RDS AM/FM STEREO W/6-DISC IN DASH CD W/MP3 PLAYBACK, BOSE PREMIUM 7 SPEAKER SYSTEM XM SATELLITE RADIO."
So I am confused. This conflicting info is making me think the manual was written in an Asian office. I'm just looking for the "Do not safe to operate vehicle audio system in bathtub."
What are we missing, or do we just go to the dealer and hope they don't say, "No, that's how it's supposed to work"?
Has anyone had this fixed???
