HUD Problem Need Help
On Saturday I hit a hole on the road (didn't see it in time ). Anyways, after that I saw that my HUD was somewhat blurred then after a few minutes it went back to normal. Now, at around 12:00 PM today I saw that the HUD had the same problem only when the sun hit the car from the back. To explain it when I am heading north and the sun is still at around 45 deg then it shines to the back of the vette. Here is two pictures describing what I see and the problem the HUD is having. It is only noticeable only when I'm facing north and the sun is shining on the back around noon.
Also, since this is my first corvette I am not so familiar with taking it for service. Can anyone advice me on this? Should I take it for service to a dealer? Thanks in advance for all your input.

I agree that it's only when the sun washes it (?), but I did not see this prior to the hard hit on the left front wheel when I dropped in the hole. And I did noticed the HUD was all messed up due to the impact. It did cleared after a little while, but I'm not comfortable seeing this . Anyone else have an opinion on this?
My HUD on my '05 Z51 'washes out' with the sun being at a certain angle from time to time. I would not worry about that. If the display is changing settings, you might need to check which fob you are using because the set-up for fob 1 might be different than for 2. Otherwise a trip to the dealer is in order.

I agree that it is probably only the sun. It cannot hurt to clean the lense of the HUD as specified in the manual - use a very soft towel to gently wipe. When you hit the pot hole, debri/dust from ontop of the dash might have fallen on top of the lense.

When the planets line and the sun is at the right angle, I have the same issue and would tend to believe every HUD owner. Nothing to worry about and will never appear at night! That is unless the moon crashes into us but then we will have other issues to deal with, like driving on a new planet.

Thanks for all of your replies. Maybe I'm a little over exaggerated, but since it is my first vette I've never known of any previous issues. Now I can relax and not worry too much about it. It is odd that I notice this only after the incident.
