Why is it everyone assumes DBS? Gotta watch these Forum mechanics. Moreover, jumping a car absolutely dan fry your wiring. May only happen 1 in a hundred times but, if you're that one, you will be sorry. I agree with the guys who recommended charging it and then having the battery tested. Good luck.
The [ongoing] DBS issue with the 2005 C6 has a lot of people pretty jumpy, looking for that first "documented" instance the problem continues across model years.
Let's face it, if I or you had a 2005 with this horrible problem you'd have to agree it'd be a major PITA.
I sincerely feel for those saddled with this while trying to enjoy an otherwise beautiful, world class automobile.
Let's be happy (& hope ) we'll never know the joys of being stranded by our new world class sportscar, shall we?
I just went to go and start my 06 A6 for the first time in about a week...
and I'm stuck!
The car opened and let me in, i sat down, however I went to start the car and got a click sound, but nothing. I tried to open my door, and it would not open. I pulled the emergency release handle, and the door poped open.
The outside lights of the car are still on, however the car will not go into accessory mode or regular driving mode. The windows are not indexing, and i hear a slight ticking sound on the outside of the car.
The inside still has some lights on, so I am not sure if the battery is dead or what?
Someone please help quick before all lights go out!
Just curious...did you have the emergency brake set for the week??? or not??
after I have hooked up the trunk-mounted GM 6-disc changer and all of a sudden the car's power goes out and the clicking sound is heard. Jumpstarted the thing and it's been working fine ever since. Battery seems fine as well; I keep it hooked up to a battery tender.
