I am a black color fan and my last car was a black SS. I loved it. It wasnt as hard to keep clean when new. But, being a daily driver, the front and and rockers (etc) showed their age. The sandblasting was everywhere.
I got the silver on my Vette and at first was very reluctant. But, as I got the car, I was extremely pleased with the silver. I can only describe the particular silver on my car as having a "glow" about it. Honestly, IMO, I think that the silver shows the car off more than black.
It was between MS and black.
Black would drive me nuts trying to keep it clean, I'm a fanatic on keeping my Vettes clean.
Also, I've had silver cars before, and I never get sick of silver.
But I will say I've seen better shades of silver than the Machine Silver.
Just My .02
I have loved every generation of Corvette in silver, especially with red interior(midyears are my favorites).Black was my other close choice, with red interior and i honestly would have been just as happy with that combo. No regrets on Machine Silver.I like it because it is stealthy and doesn't scream here i am.

Silver is a very masculine color and without a doubt hides dust/dirt more effectively than any other color. My old BMW was white and it wasn't long before I regreted not getting silver. White cars have a tendency to look more like "chick" cars, all other things being equal. Also, according to insurance industry, silver is the least likely color to be involved in accidents - very visible both day and night, and in all weather conditions.
