Headed out this morning for a short drive and the DIC said I had a low right rear tire...so I went immediately went back home to check it out and found a staple. It was down to 20 lbs.
Fortunately I've seen here that the tires are guaranteed and that I need to find a runflat certified Goodyear store...so I checked the Goodyear site on the internet and found that my closest Goodyear store is runflat certified . I also read the warranty brochure and am prepared to point out to them (if necessary) that the tires are fully warrantied for the first 2/32" of tread wear or 1-year for replacement or repair.
I've got my BMW pucks installed...so may find the answer to the question of whether they'll properly protect the rocker panels. I guess that will depend on what type of lift they use.
I'm sorry about your tire problem. OTOH, my BMW pucks just got delivered by the big brown truck today, so I am eagerly awaiting your puck test results.
How securely do they snap in place when you install them?
They snap right in and are very secure in the sense that they definitely are not going to fall out. However, they do have a little play and I was a little concerned they could rattle...but I've never noticed it yet. If they did, I'm sure a little electrical tape or an 'O' ring or something similar would easily solve the problem.
Took the car to the Goodyear store today. As expected, the fellow who helped me was completely unaware of the road hazard warranty so I took the warranty brochure in and pointed out where it said the tires are guaranteed for 1 year or 2/32" tread wear. He agreed and wrote up the no charge repair.
When we got the wheel off, we found that there was not only the staple in the middle of the tire that I had located, but also a screw about 1" away from the sidewall.....so.....it is non-repairable! But, not to worry...a new tire (the only one in the state) was located at another Goodyear store about 2 hours away and will be transferred tomorrow (suggested list $536 ). Man, am I glad those tires are warrantied and that I was more informed about the warranty than the tire store guy (thanks to the Corvette Forum).
FYI..they used a floor jack to remove the tire so I still don't know if the BMW pucks work on the lift.
Just make sure they don't damage you rim during the process, like what happened to me. It cost Tire Kingdom $472.50 because their employee didn't know how to deal with an aluminum rim BTW I got the check today

Why can't GM make an appropriate puck ? I would feel a bit odd installing a BMW part on my car.

Yep I picked up a pair as well, actually have a 330Ci, but never bought em for it. Last time I had tire work done on the 330 they raised it with out pucks. To late by the time I noticed. I was a bit upset seeing my car raised by its rockers. But it did not damage it one bit...
Wont take that chance with the C6, got the BMW pucks and also thought they would rattle, but have not heard them at all. They even work with my floor jack!

Off to the Goodyear store tomorrow!
I'll post an update when it's done.
I just pulled out a small piece of metal like a nail size piece out of one of the tire treads. I will monitor the DIC tire pressures. There are just too many hazards out there..and I don't mean the plywood, pitchforks, sheetrock, glass, debris from collisions, glass, refrigerators, furniture, nails, metal, etc. Between all of this and the terrible roads we have to the dualie truck spewing gravel at our windshield sometimes I feel like just garaging it making her a trailer queen and me a trailer King...Stay home it's getting ridiculous out there freeway maintenance yeah right..Can't have anything nice anymore

I have the BMW pucks all 4 were under $40.00 they are permanent and stay in great.
We had a thread going about the BMW lift pads, and I mentioned that it looked like they were about level with the bottom of the rocker panels; so they might not protect the panels if the shop uses a lift with long rails instead of individual lift points.
Has anyone used the pads with a rail-type lift?
