Default Testing a C6

With everything I have read recently regarding the power or lack there of (different articles people have read). I am curious. Has anyone with a non z51 equipted car ran it through the 1/4 mile and slalom? Just curious as to how the real world numbers compare to the gm printed numbers. I have read a lot about the z51 numbers and they all seem to be on par or better than what gm states they are. But I haven't read any results from a stock non z51 equipted car. Just curious!

my base coupe hit 1.1 on the G meter yesterday. more than GM's advertised skidpad numbers. of course, this likely would not have been possible w/o my shiny new PS2's

additionally, i do not run 1/4 mile, but there are plenty here that do and have run in the 12's with the base coupe. but dont take my word for it. go drive one for yourself.

I'm pretty sure it has more power and handling then 98% of the folks that own them can ever use. But it's a good feeling to know I'm at my limit not the cars. What more could you ask for? The rest is just numbers.

That's because most people with the base or F55 suspension are not interested in taking their cars to the track. I would think the GM numbers are accurate.

Don't mean to start anything here, but I do not agree with this. I just bought an F55 and A6 and DEFINITELY intend to track the car. Now I am not a serious racer, just an enthusiast that enjoys taking Corvettes to their limits! Unlike many of forum members, I actually drive my Corvette every day...thus my reasoning for the F55 and A6... Besides any serious racer would be getting a stripped down Z06...

Maybe you missed the word most when you quoted Another Yellow. He didn't say ALL.

Look at these bone stock times and tell me what you see.

Yep, 12 of the 16 were Z51. That says most cars that go to the track are Z51, but not ALL.

Also, for those who asked, GM quoted 12.9 sec. for auto trannys with Z51, 13.0 sec. for auto trannys w/o Z51. Looks to me like some CF members have done even better.

Completely bone stock, the numbers on that list are mostly from the z51s. The 3.15 geared '05s have the same gearing that was offered in the Z51 optioned automatic transmissioned cars of that year.

There are no base or F55 bone stock manuals in that list.

The quickest near stock F55 is from JSchindler who ran 12.57. The car had B&B bullets on it.

The GM numbers are listed as follows
