I love driving the convertible with the top down, and because mine is a weekend only car, a convertible is perfect for me. For reasons I won't go into, I did own a C6 coupe for 7 months and liked it a lot.
One thing I really like about the C6 coupe is the styling of the roof. The C6 coupe looks a lot better to me than the C5, largely because of the roof design.
The coupe top comes off in less than 30 seconds. Goes back on just as easy. With it off, I don't see any roof whatsoever. I don't see how it could feel any more "open". I'm completely happy with the coupe.

Love that color! My wife thought it was a convertable when I took the panel out.
As a long time vert owner...I would like to suggest that there is something a little different about those of us that like to go "topless". It has been my experience that we may be "hard-wired" a bit differently than our other Vette brethren. For example, we of the vert persuasion see a world of difference between a targa top and the true open-air cockpit of a vert. We have no problem putting the top down on a beautiful day...even if the temperature suggests that there is a screw loose somewhere and it has nothing to do with the car. Consequently...my humble opinion is that unless you share some of these same idiosyncracies, you would be better off with a coupe. Only you can know the answer!! Good luck.

When I lived in Vermont I used to put the top down sometimes when it snowed just to catch the flakes. I have a black Vert now and would never change.
I am ordering a coupe but purely a $$$ decision. If I could afford the extra dough it wouldn't even be a decision. My favorite part of the vert is the waterfall between the seats. Absolutely gorgeous.
it's not about how fast it looks. it's about being able to put the top down have the sun shining on you, the wind blowing in your hair and just the feeling of freedom and enjoying the outside. if looking faster is all that's important to you. you reallyareperson i've had botha c6 coupe and vert and enjoy the vert much more
I'll stay with the coupe and if you have the transparent top you have the best of both worlds rain or shine. Always been tempted by the vert though............

Reason: forgot signature
love the water fall look of the inside between the seats in the vert. top down or top up love the vert if they didn't make one I would be driving a viper or XLR right now.
like them topless
My first was a coupe the last five were verts would not own a vette if they stopped making verts. There is ALMOST no better feeling then cruising with the top down on a hot summer day!
