I heard from my aunt's boyfriend's good friend who knows someone who works on the assembly line that since GM is cutting medical benefits in the their contracts with UAW employees and retirees, there will be a clause that Vette owners, as well as Hummer and Escalade owners, will have to be available to drive local, identified senior citizens to the doctor's office.

Hell, they may as well go in style, anyway.

A small price to pay.

I'm really glad the C6 didn't get them. I like the clean look of as few buttons as possible.

Mine must be different. On the Grand Cheerokee Limited they are behind the wheel so that you press them towards you as you would normally be gripping the wheel. You don't see them at all, and unless you knew where to feel for them, you may not even know that they are there.

What did yours look like and how did they function?

2007 features flux capacitors so you can go back in time to get warranty work done if your car has mods...

There's going to be a striped down (no luxurey items) version. that comes with headers, supercharger. For $2000 more than a loaded Z51. Or maybe not.

The buttons on the Grand Cherokee are well hidden. Mine is a hemi loaded with every option available. I didn't even discover the stereo controls for several weeks. The sound system it fabulous and the rig is pretty speedy too. It's a perfect stablemate for a C6 and light years ahead of any similar GM vehicle...there's just no comparison.

However, on a vette...I agree with some who say it's a sports car not a lexus and should have no extraneous stuff on steering wheel.

I have two cars that have the radio controls on the steering wheel (01 Z28 & 05 Accord), but for some reason I NEVER use them. I must be retarded, my wife uses them all the time, but I just keep reaching over to the radio, old habits are IMPOSSIBLE to break.

Thanks,

Critical advantage to steering wheel controls: You can boost the volume on the good music and lower it on the bad music without your wife knowing what you're up to. Although I would never do this!

Looking at GM's balance sheet I strongly suspect there won't be any changes that cost GM more money! They need to crank every penny they can out of the cars they're selling right now. Corvettes have to add a pretty penny to their bottom line. As long as C6's are still selling well not much of substance is going to be changed IMHO.....
Lets hope GM is still around in 08 or 09 to make a C7 happen....
