Default Wind screen question...

Did anybody ever buy and use the Corvette convertible wind screen, the one that mounts behind the seat? My wife is always complaining about her hair, I thought this would be a good idea, and give me some peace and quiet, if that’s possible. It costs about $450.00, and I would hate to purchase one and find that it didn’t do a good job. I have new silver C6…Al

I looked into it and the Forum feedback that I received indicated that it was too expensive, has to be removed when lowering or raising the top (a real PITA), and was marginally effective. I've taken a pass on it. Told my wife I'd loan her one of my Corvette hats!

I have one for my 911 cab and find it to be very effective in reducing back air flow and wind turbulence in the cabin. This is on a Porsche but imagine it has the same effect on the C6

Default windscreen

i have one in my z-51 05 vert. it's effective on the interstate, on normal wind days. on windy days, you will still get some side wind. i liked the looks of it, and bought it. it's really not bad to remove to put up the top once you get used to it. i would go for it.........crancky

I have an 0 6 vert--bought the windscreen--it is not a big deal to put on and off--takes about 5 secods. It has done a very good job the times i have used it. bought mine on ebay for $275. It is original GM product--they typically sell for $379. Some Gm dealers sell for $349

I buy Verts because I like open air driving. Putting on a screen, and then raising windows (recomended) you are defeating what a Vert is. In fact you end up with a expensive coupe

Most of my driving is top down. I admit to turning on the heater and wearing jackets/hat when it is colder out. Possibly I might even try out the heated seats My longest trip was from NCM pick up in BG to home all top down.

OBTW I live in upper NYS, drive my car about 8 months a year
Flame away.

I have a C6 with a windscreen. I can't tell much difference, but my wife says she can. Anything to make the wife happy. It whistles a little after 120. She ca tell when I'm going too fast.

I bought a windscreen on ebay that the guy said he used on his C6. I did not get around to trying to install it for several months. When I finally got to it I found out it is for a C5. Anyone with a C5 want a windscreen - send me a PM. I've become so used to the C6 without a screen I don't think I'll bother with it now. My wife figured out a cap and scarf configuration that keeps her happy on top down days.

I've had experience with wind screens on other roadsters and found them to be highly ineffective.
