Default Front End Alignment

Has anybody had trouble with the factory front end alignment causing uneven tire wear? I have noticed inside wear at only 1200 miles???

I just had an alignment done yesterday for the first time. I have 9k miles on 05 vert. No unusual problems with tire wear - I just wanted to make sure the alignment was within factory specs. Only the right rear tire was slightly out of spec. They must have done a good job at the factory when the car was built last May. But from reading previous posts it is clear that some C6s leave the factory out of alignment. That's why I believe it is a good idea to check. The Service Mgr knocked off $30 on my alignment bill because the car was basically within spec. I appreciate good customer relations and will send the General Mgr a letter of appreciation.

yes. Had all 4 corners realigned after 2000 miles and again at 13000 when I put on new tires. Many have complained about the factories front end alignment. Problem is that when you see the uneven tire wear, there are too many miles on it to get it done under warranty. At 2000 miles, the dealer can say that it could have been a curb you hit.

When you put on new tires did they come with new wheel sensors or do you have to use the old ones from your original tires?

Use the old ones, why would you spend $200 on new ones?

Lowered mine to the max by cutting the bushings all the way around over a year ago. Never aligned and no uneven tire wear front or rear.

When you spend this much money on a car you really should go and get a professional alignment. The factory alignment is good but it is not exceptional since it is done very quickly. The extra life you get out of your expensive tires is well worth the cost.
