Default Dash mount for V1?

Has anyone seen a C6 dash mount for a Valentine 1? I've never liked the suction cupos I've used for years as I always have trouble getting them to stick. Then recently I saw/purchased a mirror mount but it was nothing more then a twisted piece of metal ...fine as long as you have only one driver and assuming you can bend it to fit your mirror-direction preference. So now I'm wishing someone would make a high quality, adhesive mount to go on the dash with plenty of adjustment, clean looking design, etc.

One forum member has used a short bungee cord to hold the V1 to the center dash speaker grill and claims it stays put there.

A dash mount can be convenient but attracts attention from thieves and cops, so I'd avoid it.

as for the mirror mounting of the V1, I've had no problems with it, just bend it more to conform, and the adhesive holds it tight, though it hangs under the mirror, its tight enough that it looks integral to it, besides, I have a black interior for a back drop, hard to distinquish it from outside

Yes I hear you, I did buy it (and returned it). Again my concern was what happends when my wife drives and tilts the mirror an entirely different way.

I did a search on Google and found a company named RAM (ram-mount.com) that offers a dash mount but I'm wondering if it will be too big and clunky. I'm not real concerned about theft on the dectector. I think thieves have figured out they're not worth much and are concentrating on laptops these days...

I use a small bungee cord to secure the V1 to the speaker grill, the power cord hides between the windshield and dash to the fuse panel in the passenger foot well This takes about 5 min to do.. It connects to the heated seat fuse and comes on with the ign. I have used this method for 4 years in my C5 and 1 year in the C6 with NO loss of performance

I won't have a C6 fuse panel to look at for about 6 weeks yet. What did you use for a ground connection in the fuse panel?

I can't find the thread where you told me what the widget you piggybacked onto the seat fuse was, would you please repeat that?

The heated seat FUSE is switched I use it for my V1

The black wire at the left edge of the pic is grounded to the metal frame

The Great Lakes visor mount addresses your concerns. It's in a fixed location, it's up high so you will actually get good coverage, and there are no suction cups.

I use it along with an invisicord and it's a great combo.

I use this mount too, and I am pleased with it.

That bungiee cord really looks good, unobtrusive. Think I'll try that. Thanks. I always take mine V1s up to Hi Fi Buys here in Atlanta. They do a nice switched install for $50 and I don't have to worry about screwing things up or spending my usual half day doing it....

I like the KISS method, Keep It Simple Stupid, You will be surprised how well it works. Its funny all the naysayers who say it will not work as well
on the dash as up higher BUT never tried it. It takes 5 minuets to set it up temporarly using the cig lighter plug and give it a try. Find one of those "Your Speed Is" signs and test it your self

I really like the looks of Fastmover's bungee install, but I don't think it gives the rear antenna a clear shot, and I've never been much for a visor mount ...seemds a little too much in my face (or my wife's). I guess that's why there's different mounts for different guys. I do appreciate all the input, guess I'm sticking (no pun intended) with suction cups for now. Hi Fi Buys installed the wiring for me Friday ...I think Ralph there was bummed that I wanted the V1 low enough to clear the rear antenna view...he thought it looked ugly.

Anyway that's done and now I'm looking at Laser Jammers... Anyone tried Blinder or Excort?

Are those mini or standard sized blade fuses?

The manual doesn't seem to say and I won't have my car to check until May 3rd at 0745, not that I'm keeping track.

V1's suction cups rule.

The key is to slide the detector in and out of the bracket.
Don't keep pulling the suction cups off as they have a limited lifespan Plus replacement sets are like $1.00
