Default Priority Start - DB question

Had my first db and so I installed a priority start. Other than not having another DB how do you know if the priority start has prevented one? The manual says that after priority start has shut down your system generating a load like pressing on break pedal will re-activate system. Is trying to activate door locks to get in sufficient load? Or if it happens will I still have to manually open doors and then break pedal or similar will activate?

Thanks,

if the priority start kicks in the battery is dissconnected so your doors are dead. you will have to use the metal key to get in. supposedly pressing on the brake will not trip the reconnection but pushing in the cig lighter will. At that point the car will start up normaly. HTH

It beats jumping the battery or waiting for the charger to charge the battery.

The above is correct. the brakes WILL NOT trigger it.
1) Open hatch with key
2) Pull wire
3) Open door
4) get in and close door
5) Hit cig lighter
6) Start car
7) Reindex windows

Some people have troubles will the mirrors losing position, but I have not.

Thanks,

There were plenty of threads about Priority Start saving people but none that I could find about what happens when it gets tripped.
I'm hopeing that I never find out but it is good to know what it will seem like and how to trip it back on.

Could someone post a pic of an installed Priority start. I installed my on the engine side of the battery and that puts the negative and positive posts very close together which worries me a bit. I am also concerned about the rubber band breaking so I am going to replace it with a zip tie.
Again does anyone have a picture??

I have an Optima RedTop in my car and installed the PS between the side posts on the front(facing the front of the car) of the battery.I also put 3M exterior grade double sided tape on the back of the PS to secure it along with the rubber band.

please see my web site: http://c62.81x.com
just put my pics up tonight.
more stuff at http://c6.81x.com also.
I'm not a vendor, nothing to sell, just like to post up pics. I'll put them in this forum if I get a chance, also. Of course installation is a snap, but lots of guys like to see the pics before they lay down cash for something like this.
