My experience is the same...it doesn't seem to work. I'm constantly hand-adjusting the volume. What a shame. A great feature on paper.....
I'm going to t he manual in case I'm missing something.
Remember our troops in harms way.
I'm piggy-backing my last post on this subject. I have the non-nav radio w/Bose. Yesterday with the radio at a moderate volume, and while we were crossing over a concrete surface bridge, it was obvious the volume on my radio increased. The trouble is, the road noise was loud and so was the radio, creating a din I didn't want to hear. After the bridge, back on macadam. the automatic lower volume was obvious.
We paid close attention after the bridge and, sure enough, the auto volume was working.
It just may be that a higher initial volume setting (that I usually use) makes the auto-increase in volume less discernable. But having the radio at a comfortable "conversation" level as we had yesterday, made the auto-adjust increase/decrease very obvious.
This just might explain part of the differences in owner comments.
