Default Bash notes

Attended my first Bash yesterday in Bowling Green. I've never met such a great bunch of guys. Had a blast, even though it rained. I mean....RAINED!! Had the pleasure of meeting several plant engineers and each one was a sincere car guy, anxious to help with the few issues with my car. Professional gentlemen with customer satisfaction their mission. They were impressed with the Z06 brakes on my C6. Many said they did not think it was possible, but were not aware that someone was manufacturing the 9.5x18 and 11x19 Z07 wheels, which are what makes this mod doable, while maintaining a stock appearance. I did ask a few questions concerning future C6's. Got some pretty definite answers on some questions, some "maybe's" on others, then a couple of on a few! Some of the new stuff has already been posted within this forum, so I'll past on that info. But, I was told that there will be a hi-perf version of the LS2 ( maybe LS2.5) with fordged internals and hp cam coming as a step between the LS2 and LS7. The intention is to provide an engine suitable for owner modifications without the necessity of opening the engine. One thing that they would not deny was that the C7 will be a mid-engine car! I got the impression that there is a strong possibility that it will be. Also, the C6 will be around until at least '08 or '09. I've never seen so many C5's and C6's in one place. Many vendors had the tents set up and I enjoyed seeing their project cars (sorry, guys, for all the drool on your cars, but the rain washed it off) and talking cars with the reps. I had such a good feeling at the bash....... hell, I might just drive back up there today and just hang out (after I wash the car)

Mid engine??? First I heard of that. As long as it doesn't infringe on cargo space or drastically impact serviceability and the MSRP. 3 area's that have been the mantra since the C4. The R&D would have to be rather mature for an 08/09 release and I don't believe anything like that has been mentioned before.

Oh well, time will tell.

A mid-engine??????? If so I'll be keeping my C6 longer than planned.
