Saw a picture of a Saturn Sky today. Looks like a C6 clone to me, especially from the side and the headlights. Now we've got Corvette imitations from both Caddy and Saturn.
C'mon, GM. Keep the Corvette unique.

Time for the C7!
I hadn't noticed, but once I got my gag reflex from looking at the front end of the Sky under control, I could see a some similarity to the C6 lines in the rest of the car. Mostly it just looks like the girls version of a Solstice though.
Fortunately I like the C6 for what it is and don't care much about uniqueness.

As someone said earlier, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." After all don't both design teams work for GM?

they do share some body lines. I didn't notice before because I never paid attention to the Saturn Sky.

I've seen the Sky up close at the car show when it first came out. It didn't remind me of the Corvette at all. It reminds me more of the import roadsters it is intended to compete with.
I agree, its similar and I like it... def nicer thatn a solstice...
solstice looks kinda girly, sky looks more masculine.
I wonder if there will be confusion with the nissan skyline that is supposed to come out soon...
both solstice and sky look good, however they are not designed for larger guys at all,, they made them really small inside,, so they lose a great many guys that would be interested that couldnt afford a vette.
No need to do that, the Solstice is the same car and look good. What suprised me was that the Mallet is only about 200 lbs lighter than a C6.
2006 Mallett Pontiac Solstice V8
ON SALE: Now
BASE PRICE: $37,995 (including $19,995 for the Solstice)
POWERTRAIN: 6.0-liter, 400-hp, 395-lb-ft V8; rwd, five-speed manual
CURB WEIGHT: 3010 lbs
0 TO 60 MPH: 4.2 seconds (mfr.)
The Solstice/Mallet is still a car.
That 38 grand price is getting pretty close to a what you can buy a base C6 for. No way I'd buy a Mallett at that price unless I was interested in also driving fence posts...........
BTW.. I notice the warranty is only 2 years or 24,000 miles....

Actually, the Sky is a clone of the 2003 Vauxhall VX Lightning concept.
I saw a Sky displayed at a convention in early November.
Up close, it's a good looking car- much more attractive than the Solstice, but it didn't look anything like a C6. While it steals some design elements, the proportions are much different.

My wife wanted a Solstice... I am 6'4 and we found out quickly that I could not fit in it. There is no doubt they do look nice but I tried to get into one and that did not work. For some smaller drivers this will be a real screamer. But If I can't fit in it to drive it I will not buy it. So the wife got a Z4 BMW. That I can get into.
The saturn sky was designed by one of the engineers that brought us the new C6... I think the car is beautiful. i Had the opportunity to test drive one for no reason at all, but it was great. The engine was incredibly weak, but the ride was smooth, shifts were smooth, and interrior was very comfy. When the Sky redline come out next year, with 260bhp turbo charged, i think it will be a top seller for GM..
and i am 6'1 and fit perfectly in this car, with the top still on!
