If I buy my wife a loaded C6 vert with Z51 and paddle shift, nav etc which will come to approx 61 or 62 msrp and tax what do you think I could sell it for in one year if it is still in perfect condition and has approx 5k miles on it?
These guys are very knowledgable ---you can buy a 62 k vert for 56k at a dealer [Kerbeck]--and then expect to lose another 10 k for the first year. As for GMS, DEDUCT ABOUT 10K FROM WHAT YOU PAID.
It would wholesale for 45K might get a liitle more from a private buyer.
I'm not sure where you guys live, but in my area (Washington DC) 2005 Verts are on Auto Trader for a low of $54k and a high around $57...doesn't mean they will sell for that of course, but still. My dealer said they would give me $49k for my 2005 vert (5700 miles) as a trade in on a 2007. $45k sounds very low for a convertible.

It is a whole different ballgame if you are selling/trading or buying. If they give you 49k in a trade deduct the 5/6 k discount on the 07 and what are you really getting?I always go to the dealer in a car other then what I am looking to buy, buying a Toyota and I take the Vette and vice versa. Then I get a cash price with no trade. Next I tell the sales manager--because I request to speak to that person, that I have some fears of buying this particular car--whether it be a Vette, Jeep,etc.---because I have heard that the trade-in value is poor. Then they will tell me how well they do is 2 or 3 years. Then I go and get the car I'm looking to trade and tell them to back up that trade allowance in 2/3 year promise. Then the auction sheets come out. It doesn't always work but if you are willing to walk out the door, you may close the gap.

My 2005 loaded Vert was $62,400.00 and 2006 should be a couple thousand more? I would think 18 to 25% off list should be a good number for a one year old Vette Vert.
