I live in California and want to buy a new C6. Need advice on dealing with the dealer. What did y'all pay for yours? MSRP? Below MSRP? How much below? Thanks to all.
I purchased my C6 from Stan at PowerChevrolet in Irvine. He gave me $3500 off of MSRP for a Z51 A6 3LT no NAV. He was very polite and didn't try to bait and switch me. I Purchased the car pretty much over the phone.
He had mentioned that if I had any friends that needed cars to give him a call and he would help them out...Hope this helps.
I live in SoCal and bought mine from Rick Daniels at Les Stanford Chev. in Dearborn michigan below msrp but it was a brand new 05 and I bought it in Jan 06. You can still get MSRP with him, have it custom ordered, and get a courtesy ship to a dealer here if you know some one.
I purchased a 2006 LMB Z51 MN6 1LT for $39795, GMS pricing plus a customer loyalty certificate from EVS in WI. The car was ship directly from the factory to me in Santa Barbara CA. That is about 7000 off of MSRP.

I purchased my '06 C6 for $3K under MSRP back in October '05 from Bob Brock at Victory Cheverolet. I didn't think that was so bad for a custom order. He's very cool and ver professional. Give him a try and tell him I sent you. Good luck!
I live in Florida but sourced my '06 vert (loaded with everything!) from Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ for $5000 under the $64,517 MSRP. At the time, every car in their inventory was $5K off MSRP and they run similar promotions all the time.
Kerbeck is the world's largest Corvette dealer, period. The entire building and lot is made up exclusively of Corvettes. Nary a Cobalt or Impala anywhere in sight. Their regular Chevy dealership must be somewhere nearby but I never saw it. They routinely carry close to 100 brand new Vettes in stock.
The best part? Their salesmen are handsomely salaried and not paid commissions. Therefore, there is no pressure to get you to pay more or purchase extra crap you don't need. It was a thoroughly pleasant experience buying form them.
I don't think you need to leave SoCal to buy from them. Check their inventory to see if they have the car you want then give them a call and see what they are offering off MSRP and find out how to do the transaction by FedEx to sign and return the docs. Here's their inventory:http://www.kerbeck.com/kerbeck/kerbe...ette_inventory
They only have 43 in inventory at the moment since the model year is winding down.
One more thing about Kerbeck: Their promo right now is $6K off for convertibles and $5K off coupes, but this applies to those with the 3LT package only. Here's the link: http://www.kerbeck.com/kerbeck/kerbe...ontact_Kerbeck

I just purchased mine yesterday 05/08 6 AT,LT 3,DSOM
$2700 below MSRP at Cormier Chevy in Long Beach...MSRP also included Onstar and Lojack ...Anyway you could do better if you aren't particular about color...BTW Cormier probably largest in L.A. area.
With about 20+ coupes in stock...Said he would give much better deal on older/common color inventory...Good Luck!

I bought a 2006 Machine Silver Coupe with Z51, MN6, 3LT, Nav, Onstar, Dual Roof, Polished wheels and NCM delivery from Register Chev. in Brooksville, Florida for $4500 off MSRP.
My boss bought an new 05 C6 vert for 10K under MSRP two months ago and he said the 06 C6 were 2K under MSRP. The closer you get to 2007 the 06 will drop more.
I have one more GM Supplier discount that you can use. Only two stipulations. You have to use it by May 31st. Plus, as a way to pay him back, you have to use Tommy Jr. at MacMulkin Chevy in New Hampshire. He's great to work with, you'll get your car quickly, and the price will be near invoice.
You'll have to get a local dealer to do a courtesy delivery for around $500 or you can do a Museum delivery for around $400 and drive it back to California, or you can pick it up for free from MacMulkin.

A lot depends on the time of year that you are shopping. I tried Power Chevrolet in January 05 and they were willing to order one for me at MSRP. I ended up buying from a former forum dealer in Georgia for $3500 under MSRP. I picked it up at the museum and drove 2100 miles to San Clemente CA.
Thanks to all who replied. Y'all are awesome to help a C6 wannabe owner. I will follow up on several of your suggestions.
Many of you suggested out-of-state dealers, such as Kerbeck. Great deals, but who pays shipping to California?
Which, if any, is more discounted, verte or coupe? I want a velocity yellow verte 3LT MN6 Z51 with power top. Not easy to find with all those requirements. But I want what I want and won't settle for less.
