Default K&N cleaning/oiling

If the filter is not really dirty do you have to clean it or can you just reapply oil. My filter looks clean but it is a little dry on the side next to exhaust. This is not for my C6 but on my carpet cleaning machine thanks.

I would go ahead and clean it to get out all the dirt it has collected since the last cleaning/oiling. If you have the kit it will have both cleaner and new oil. The kit will have directions, but in general you spray with the cleaner, let it sit and then rinse it off with water. Let the filter dry overnight and then apply new oil.

Easy to do on a car, I expect it is the same on your carpet cleaning machine.
