I always wear my seat belt. Manditory for anyone in my car too. Just common sense.
Is the "Click it or Ticket" campaign just reaching texas? I don't know how it changes from state to state, but in Ga and Fl, its been around for awhile.

I still work on base and seat belt use is mandatory on base. It's also a common sense thing and it only takes a few seconds to do.
During holidays that involve an increase in vehicular traffic, North Carolina will normally step up inforcement of three different safety programs:
1. "Click it or Ticket" for seatbelts.
2. "Booze It and Lose It" for DWI's (and drugs).
3. Aggresive Drivers. "Drive it like you stole it", and you may get treated like you actually did.
Local and State Law Enforcement will conduct combined "checkpoints" at various high-traffic locations looking for drunk drivers and checking for the various infractions. Expect to see an increase in active patrolling along interstates and high traffic areas.
Lets be safe out there. Like to see everyone back on the forum after a long weekend or holiday.

+1. There has been a marked increase in motorcycle accidents/fatalities in the last few months among military personnel (all services are seeing this). The big push, at least in the Army, is to make a determination on "Line-of-Duty" based on weather the individual had attended a Motorcycle Riders Safety Course and was wearing all of the prescribed safety equipment; DOT helmet, proper footwear and clothing. If not, the findings of the investigation could go against the Soldier.

Yep, in Illinois too. In fact a few years back they changed the rules to where you can be stopped for seat belt now, where before it was a fine, but not an independant offense.
I just had an idiot jump out in front of me while on a business trip a few weeks ago, no time to stop, plowed into him. He had no license (Suspended)... If I didn't have mine on it may have been ugly.

Absolutely every time wear the seatbelt. Not doing so is just plain stupid. I have seen enough vehicular trauma come through and seen what people survive when wearing a seat belt and those who die that were ejected - automatically increases your risk of death by 50%.
