Default SUN vs. SHADE

Along with my other collector cars, my new C6 sees limited true sun, it sees much more action on a partly cloudy day. Do any of you other hard core car enthusiasts feel this way, please help prove my wife wrong!!

Absolutely. I can't stand getting into the Vette after it's been cooking in the sun. Interior temps reaching north of 130 degrees with the glass top can't be good for the car. I think it hurts its feelings.

"other" collector cars? Not trying to flame, but how is the C6 a collector car?

If he's got more than one that he doesn't use for daily driving...i.e. he has more than he actually needs, sounds like he is collecting cars to me. Therefore, any of his additional cars is part of his "collection."

My C6 is a driver not a collector car. But if it were a collector car
I wouldn't sweat having it out in the direct sun for a few hours occasionally.

No, I think I prefer sunshine for "showing off".

Mine sits in the TX sun 10 hours a day, as my 4 C5s did. Never had a problem related to the heat. No noticable paint fading, no weather stripping drying up, etc. And the AC makes short work of the 100+ cockpit temps when I get off work. I tried parking under trees but the grackles got me every day.

Most of the colors on C6s look better in full sun than they do in the shade. The sun isn't going to hurt it. I bet you raise the hood every time you shut the engine off too.

I don't drive or park mine in the sun for extended periods either. And I open the hood soon after I drive it in the garage. I pretty much treat it like my '67. It makes a difference.

There are a lot of folks on this board who will not drive their car in the rain. Now we have folks that will not drive their car in the sun. I have a headache, thank you

Well, my new C6 has a spot in the garage for parking, but it going to see plenty of sun this summer when I am out & about. I bought this baby to drive! I even got my first gravel related paint chips, little scratches, and scrape under the fascia out of the way in the first week!
