Speedometer
Tonight I took the Vette out between the t-storms here in Ole Virginy to get some subs.
On the way home, I began to pull away from a stop light a second or so before it changed to green and when I realized I was jumping the gun, I pushed the clutch in, shifted to neutral and put my foot on the brake. Revs were probably in the 1500 rpm range.
After a couple of seconds, the light turned green and as I prepared to accelerate by shifting to first and gently pressing the go pedal, the speedometer wrapped itself around to the 180 mark and then back to 0 (zero) ala initial start up. The tach acted normally just like it always does when driving. This happened before I had moved hardly at all. Everything else was fine and the drive home was uneventful.
Anyone have this happen to them? Any suggestions as to what may have caused it?
