Well, I didn't think it was supposed to happen but this morning I had a dead battery. Car has an auto transmission. Car has sat for about a week without being driven. Guess we'll see what's going on once AAA gets here.
Sorry to hear about your dead battery. Probably just a bad battery. I have the classic 2005 6-speed and had a dead battery. I purchased a Priority Start and it has been a life saver. I has been activated three time and all I had to do was open the car manually and push in the cigar lighter and the car powered up.
Anytime you get dead battery it reduces the life of your battery so you should try to get the dealer to give you a new one and if you want piece of mind you may want to get a Priority Start.

Where di you get your Priority Start at and how much did it cost?
www.prioritystart.com.......... 85.00. I put it in my 2005 and it has engaged a couple of times (once was my fault) and just pushed the lighter and the car fired up immediately. Excellent investment IMO................. good luck....
I purchased my Priority Start from a place called Pringles for $35.00, but it was on special and I suspect they were getting rid of their inventory and are not carrying the product any more. You can go out on the Priority Start web sight www.prioritystart.com and read about the product. They sell them for $84.95, but I think you can do better even at some of the corvette accessory providers (e.g., West Coast Corvetts, ZIP, etc.). I agree with PO10TIAL, the priority start is a good investment.
Follow up. Dealer could find nothing wrong and could not/would not replace the battery as a result. The only question I was asked was had I allowed the car to sit for a while without driving it. Answer: yes, but only 6 days and the engine had been started at least once during that time to check something on the DIC. What I got from the conversation was GM doesn't recommend allowing the car to sit longer than 11 days. Anyone heard of that? I know, it's probably in the owner's manual and I am certain I will be told that.

I have a DBS prone car. For 05 manuals it (DBS)will occur within 3 days for the most part. After that time you should be safe. I have gone 3 weeks and no problems.
It takes a bit of power to start the car+ you said it was sitting about 6 days. If you had a marginal battery this could put your car into a no star mode.
FWIW instead of starting the car to check something next time, Hold the ACC button for 10 seconds to get DIC information.(Check Battery)

It may be that you're just not driving and charging it up enough. You might consider a 'battery tender' type gizmo. You can do a search on this forum or Google for more on that. Typically the C6 should be able to sit at least a few weeks without going dead. A month may be stretching it.

My C6 A6 has sat for three weeks while we were in Australia and for two weeks while we were on the East coast. Started right up.

FWIW Two points. First, I had a dead battery in my 2006 A6, and the dealer said the battery was defective. They replaced the battery and everything has been fine ever since.
Second, a Covette engineer from GM told me the "stand time" for the Vette was about three weeks, especially if you have OnStar. That takes a bit more battery life.
We seem to be getting more A6 dead batteries lately. A followup dead battery poll may be in order...
I have had over 40 new GM cars/trucks and I'm less than impressed by their bateries. IMHO they were not too bad till the mid 70s,but after that time they went downhill fast. They have not improved with time.

Hello I need to take my battery out and have not done so before,I have a 1995 corvette coupe can some one tell me how to take it out so i don't have to spend time figuring it out.Can't find it in my manual do you take the fender off and bring it out through the side or the vaccume booster and bracket off above it. If any one could explane it to me i would be thankfull
