How much is a three week old c6 coupe with less than 2,000 miles worth that has just been in an accident. It looks like it will need full body repair but nothing internal, such as frame, etc... ? After the repair is there any hope of a decent resale ?
Hard question to answer. There are a lot of variables. Different buyers are going to care different amounts about accident damage. Unless your volunteering the fact that the car has been in an accident, if the repairs are done correctly, a buyer will probably never know. If the accident was a minor one and wasn't reported to the DMV, then it won't show up on any reports. For me personally, if it was only the panels that were damaged, and the frame wasn't damaged, I probably wouldn't be too concerned. The most important factor might be how long you own the car before you sell it. If it is repaired correctly (most insurance companies guarantee the quality of the repairs they pay for) and you hang on to the car for a long time, then it should have little impact.

if you're buying it:
1)If the title says/will say salvage, it will affect the future value of the car,no two ways about it.
2)if you had the accident and are looking to collect,if they total it,you should get all the money because it's so new.
a good lawyer can sue for the lost value on the resale/trade
trade it for a new one and have lawyer sue for the diff.
it's possible.
We have a statute in Florida that says the negligent driver owes for the reduction in value in addition to repair costs. I suspect other states have such a law too.
