Man, this is probably the first time I've washed my own ride in 5-6 years (Jeep as a DD will do that to you) Had the Vette three weeks today and the drizzle we call rain in Phx finally gave me enough water spots to warrant a wash.
Wasn't that dirty but it sure was hot. Now I just need to get a camera that does the car justice
I grew up in Birmingham, Michigan but my parents also had a house in Tucson, Arizona. I remember my disappointment (after years of going back and forth) when my Dad finally sold our house in Michigan and we moved to Tucson permanently. My disappointment was short-lived.
I came to appreciate the beauty of the Southwestern desert. Some areas are a bit desolate but other areas are beautiful. I don't have to deal with LA traffic and similar to Hawaii....the lifestyle is very laid-back. The summer heat is oppressive but there's air conditioning, swimming pools and you learn to escape as often as possible. I can get up early and be on the beach in La Jolla after lunch....I can be in the Colorado Mountains in a day or on the beach in Mexico. While many Corvette owners are shoveling snow and fondly looking at their Corvette's stored in the garage all winter....I'm tearing-up the roads with my top off (voluntarily top removal that is )
There are pros and cons to every location. When I miss the green of the Midwest, I visit there. Even the 'moonscape' of Arizona can be great....I'll escape the summer heat whenever possible but I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
I went out to wash our C6 this morning about the time of your posting and it was already 98 on it's way to 117 again today - --decided it was too flippin' hot and the dust on the Vette can live another day!
and it's not even August yet . . . only 2 more months to fry eggs on manhole covers!
