Default VY...bug problem?

Well I picked up my '07 VY last week. Absolutely love the car. A real dream come true to own it. Anyway, from the first day I brought it home the car is constantly being swarmed with bugs. Insects of all shapes and sizes seem to be in love with this thing. They are constantly all over it. I've got insect groupies. It's quite comical. I can only conclude that it has something to do with the bright yellow paint. Anyone else have this problem with VY, or any color for that matter?

Welcome to the life of owning a yellow car. Bugs flock to them all the time!

Yeah, nearly all the front leading edges have an attraction for bugs

Yellow, bright, shiny, waxy smell... better call the terminator!

Bugs love yellow. The think it's a big flower. If you use Zaino it will smell like one too.

I talked to a guy with a big yellow Honda Motorcycle and he told me that it looks good but sure attracks bugs.
Having a yellow Corvette is worth a few bugs.

They attract more than bugs. Even the other colors.

The bugs love my Monterey Red . . . I believe its the design of the car and not the color.

Yellow is a bug attractant. Just get a yellow plastic bag and put it down on the lawn and you will see all kinds of flies and bugs on it.

I have a VY coupe, and this is a known issue. I think there is a bulletin on it somewhere.

One time, I came back to my car with my son and there must have been 20 bees all enjoying my lovely VY car. They eventually blew off as we drove along. No big deal.

I put a 3M Bra on my whole front end (including all lights) around the wheel wells, and the full rocker panel, including under the car to the end of the yellow paint.

Do yourself a favor, do the same. Otherwise, you will be complaining in 6-months about how GM doesn't make chip and scratch proof paint!

I was resistent to the idea, but am re-thinking this stubborness. I notice the little impact points already on the front fascia. I am worried the front end is going to look like hell after a few years.

I use a cover on it at night, and a few coats of Zaino for easy removal from the front. Works for me so far.

I have a VY vert. The bugs love it. Must be the color. I also put a 3M clear bra on the front.
