Default question....

i'm sure they are, it only stands to reason but, are the 07 f55 rotors the same size as the z51's?

I'm pretty sure they are NOT the same size as the Z51. Based purely on reading, ads, etc. I have no direct knowledge.

They might be the same. Here's what the order book says about them.

Magnetic Selective Ride Control, for
ultimate driver control and comfort through the
use of driver-selected Tour or Sport modes.
NEW! Includes larger brakes with cross-drilled
rotors

Jim, I would think they are the same but the pads are different. We don't need more posts about squeaking brakes and brake dust.

Appreciate if you could use more descriptive thread titles. IF everyone who had a question used the title, "Question..." this board would be awfully difficult to search.

For example: Difference between 07 f55 rotors & z51's

Default please-let the rotors be the same size-

Heaven help us if the Z51 drilled rotors are even a tiny bit larger than the F55. In the manual transmission Z51 the slight gear difference gets you a .1 second advantage in the quarter mile over the base car. This tiny difference translates , however, into major performance in the mind of many Z51 owners. I am certain that if the Z51 rotors prove to be so much as a mm greater in diameter some Z51ophile will announce that this means extraordinarily superior braking performance for the Z51 over the F55.

I hope the rotors are the same size.

Z51: A legend in your mind.

Z06: A legend in everyone elses' mind.

IMO all of course.

Does this mean the F55 folks don't get to come on here and complain about squeaking brakes and brake dust? Well then, why pay extra for them if you can't do that?

I don't think we're supposed to mention or talk about our Z51 on the CF. I've noticed it causes everyone a lot of grief. What's up with this? The ones that didn't opt for Z51 keep implying that we that did think we're superior or soemthing. Like I've said in another previous post, if they wanted it they could have easily ordered it and it would have made about a $5 a month difference in their payment. It wasn't that big of a deal! Geez!!!!

Someone (GM, car mag. ?) once documented the stopping distance from 60 mph. Supposedly the Z51-equipped vettes would stop 9 feet sooner than a non-Z51-equipped car - 116 feet instead of 125 feet. Is that a function of the pads?

Why would they close it? It's technically a new discussion based on the changes for '07.

technically you're right and I hope it stays that way but I've seen so many of these hijacked by the z51/f55 crowd. Maybe we're all done with that silly debate and realize we're all proud corvette owners.

You have the standard, Z51 and Z06. Don't see anything for the F55. I've seen the new F55 brakes and they are definitly not the same size as the standard this year.

Those are the numbers for 2007 so I would quess the F55 is the same as standard. Those are the only numbers they have listed.

With only those number I would say the F55 are same as the Z51 for 07.
