Cat Scratch Fever
We dashed for the car between lightning bolts and we drove home. Once in the garage I noticed the roof had several 'scratch' marks on it....not overly deep but they didn't just wipe off either. I guess their cat likes to be on top of the car as well as underneath it. Too bad their cat wasn't underneath the car when I drove off!
If the rain lets up tomorrow I'll pull it out to clean it up and see what I can do about the scratch marks. Damn cats!
*EDIT: No need to call PETA....I wasn't serious about 'the cat being under the car' comment. My apologies if anyone took that comment as anything other than an 'exageration.' Although I'm a 'dog person' (German Shepherds) I admire cats. I wouldn't intentionally hurt one.

It won't have any effect on scratches.
... We have 3 cats and 4 dogs so I'm constantly watching! Unfortunately when you're at someone else's place you're sort of trapped! I would also be upset but I'm sure it was tongue in cheek about running the kitty over. They don't know any better and the cleaner the car the more likely they are to sit on top of it! Good luck getting the scratches out...

plus as for him being in "his own yard," i guessing, but i'm pretty sure they have a leash law so it is no different than roaming the neigborhood. i have problems with them myself. i not fortunant enough to have a closed in garage but i worked hard and built a shed and payed to have a slab pured to cover and park on to try to protect my investment so i say if you want to keep them you better keep them shut up. other wise they are the same as a wild animal. sorry as to not have a popular opinion on the matter but i guess if these pet owners didn't have their cars isolated from animals they would have a more unpopular opinion.

I have a sign at my front door, for those who don't have, or don't like pets.
If your visiting remember...."My pets live here....you don't".
Also... " Although they can be a nuisance, I like my pets better then I like most people".

Just kidding of course, I hope you get the scratches out.
What do you say to him in that situation?
Usually have the ducks in the neighborhood cause the most damage, and cats, as they do their touch and go takeoffs on my hood. They like the C6 more than they did the C5...must be the the new improved coefficient of friction that keeps 'em comin' back.
Now the ****zu likes to scratch up the interior and sneeze on my clean windows right after I detail it. That makes me happy!
(Is there another way to spell s h i t z u that won't be boinked when posted?)
Guess I fall on the "unpopular" side of this debate, 'cept I do like cats. I've had many...even teared up when I had to put them down (3 due to internal organ shut down from old age). I, like many, became attached to my pets, but I never elevated them above people. Pets are animals. We love them, they love us, yet they are still "just" animals.
Sorry about your car, but in terms of life experience, I'm sure you'd agree it does not even register as a blip. On the other hand, all us pet owners should take responsibility for the actions we've allowed our animals to do. There is a leash in my town, so if I'm so inconsiderate as to let my pet roam free resulting in damages to an actual "human being" (remember here, I value ppl over animals) then I am obligated to pay for said damages.
Frankly, those who put their pets concerns over ppl's disgusts me.
Bet I just made a few enemies
