Excellent product and very easy to install. Drove the car up on the race ramps and had all the room I needed. Very easy install once you remember the transmission is in back! In traffic back ups its nice to be able to select 2nd at a low speed/throttle position.
how do you intall? can you point me to instructions? will I need a ramp or lift?
being forced to shift 1-4 is a PITA, it always happens when you are least expecting and don't want it to happen. Sure you can consciously think about it and there is then no need for it, but I want to reserve all my brain cells for ENJOYING driving it

You need to be able to get under your car enough to pop out a little electrical plug in the bottom of your transmission, and plug the skip shift into it. It is really not a big deal at all. Takes longer to jack up the car (use jack stands) or back it up on ramps than it does to install it.
Comes with instructions....if you get it and decide that the installation is too much for you, I will take it back.....I am confident that you will keep it when you see the install.
Parting words, I have sold hundreds of these to forum members and have NEVER EVER had a return on the skip shift.
Before it was installed I only experanced the "ship shift" two or three times. the "skip shift" activated times I was in heavy traffic coming off of a stop light and it was forcing me into forth. I did not like the feeling, it throws you off, feels like something is wrong. If I want to shift into second ... then let me shift to second. If I had wanted the car to shift I would have bought a automatic.
I bought my 'Vette previously owned and it must already have the shift thing in it because I've noticed that I can go from 1 - 2 when it is illuminated. I also had some mods that I didn't know did not come standard like a complete Borla exhaust system, latest Nav DVD for the east coast and other minor things. I couldn't be more tickled with my RIDE if you'd stick a feather up my....nose. The dealership was oblivious to the mods and additions. Good for them and me!
I bought one of these and never installed it. Don't seem to need it, the car works fine the way it is. When I'm slow in traffic I shift from first to third anyway. When under power no interference. So I didn't bother. Anyone want it?
I'll pick one up since there are other things I want on your site but I thought my skip shift was broken until I intentionally tried to make it work just to see. Sure enough the way I drive I don't seem to need it. I have one on my Camaro but that one would kick in all the time but I guess I drive the Vette differently.

Driving the Vette a little more aggressive, just a guess....
Had '05 with eliminator & liked it. Now have '08 without and have goten used to it when it infrequenly engages. '08 averages 2.5 mpg better without the eliminator. That makes mpg a consideration in my mind.
Just installed mine and I love it. I know many of you say the CAG does not kick in, but if I drive it to get mileage the CAGs would go off all the time, even in a 08.
