Default WCC 946 big problems

ok where do I start. I ordered the 946s($$4000$$$) when paul put them on the fourm waite.d 3 months(no probs for customs wheels) they sent me a t-shirt and through in the straps for the sensors free for the wait.

Now this is where the probs start
1. wcc had no tires in stock,so I ordered my own continetal 305/25/20
and 275 30 19,just what paul called for. I also bought new sensors($$200$$.)

2.resieved the rims and they looked great!!!! went to my local tire shop in slidell la they told me they couldnt mount the tire with the sensors on,due to the tire space between the rim and the tire. I persisted to tell them it was easy to mount (thats what wcc told me) the owner of the tire shop walked me to the tire mounting machine and showed me the problem, again i called wcc and they told me they mount this rim and tire all the time. again i persisted for them to install the sensor even if they broke the sensor. sure enough they broke the mounting braket that holds the sensor.I called wcc and again they told me the tire shop is not familiar with mounting the sensors. I asked if i should send them back. jt told me he would mount and balance them for free if i paid to ship them. I thought, what happens if i get a flat in louisiana , do i send the tire back to cali every time i have to change the tire.

so i went to houston tx to see better tire shops ( had a meeting for work) they told me no way it could be done with the size tires that have been requared by wcc.

I called wcc again and i got bobby on the phone and she talked to the mgr of the tire shop he told her it could not be done.

to make a long story short, bobby wanted me to pay for shipping there and back if wcc could mount them.and offered to refund my money for the rims if they couldnt mount the tires with sensors. then i would be stuck with $1500 tires with no rims.

I need help from forum members, I dont want to bad mouth wcc,but what shoud i do???????????

guys ask vertc6 what he thinks of the rims i meet him houston

help

first of all its not WCC's fault if the tire store doesnt have the equipment....Just a word of advice....call around and ask questions BEFORE you drag this stuff all over town....I can tell you from personal experience that alot of tire stores do not have the equipment to handle even 18' wheels....I had 2 different places tell me they couldnt' mount my 335/30/18's...had a guy come to me and do it. I think your issue is with the locals not WCC

I do not know what you should do but I have a question for you. Why did it take you 3 months to get your wheels? I was thinking about ordering the WCC 946 wheel within the next few weeks.

I think herein lies the problem....the places you went were not setup for something that size and depth....I know my guy said the 335s were a bitch and alot of folks won't touch them....takes alot of time and care to not screw up a wheel or tire..short stiff sidewalls....

Another question, how many inches are the lip on these wheels. These are the nicest wheels I have seen available for the C6, I can't wait to get mine.

the tire fits very tight on the rim after mounting the first side,so tight it takes 3 people to slide it down

I don't think you are bad mouthing them...like I said I think it is more who you are dealing with locally...

I started something like this in Southeast http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1365377 and then Mary (Gray Fox) did the same in Southwest http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1367568

it is a thread with local vendors/ business that forum members recommend....check both threads and ask in the regional sections for help.....someone has got to be able to do this for you...

I personally think you have spent way more than most people would have at this point...and you have way more patience than me

You sound reasonable, and it sounds like Paul is very willing to help. I think you need to call around and see if any local places have the ability to mount them for you. Otherwise, eat the shipping $$$ and let WCC do it. Then do some research on where you can go in the future for tire service.
