Default How to question

How do you get the floor mats out. They have that button like thing holding it in place (1 on the passenger side, 2 on the drivers side). I tried pulling up on it but it won't come loose. I don't want to destroy it by pulling hard. What is the trick to getting the button disconnected?

Put your fingers under the mat near the button and pull up.

Sometimes the sleeve will come apart and the lower half will stay on the carpet peg. Just pull it off and snap it back together with the one on the top of the mat.

I just put in my new Lloyd's 'Lingenfelter' floor mats....you might want to take a putty knife and work around...prying up as you go. As was mentioned, sometimes the bottom half of the 'retainer' stays on the floor peg. If so, again use the putty knife and simpy pry it up.

The Lloyd's floor mat simply drops down (the hole and grommet) over the existing floor peg. There doesn't seem to be any way to fasten them down short of cutting away the grommet and using the retainer's from the stock floor mats. I wouldn't think this would be needed...the Lloyd's mats should stay pretty well in-place.

But glue the two donut pieces together first, so that they do not seperate again. There is a bulletin on this.

You might want to try this thread, it has some information from the owner's manual on how to remove the mats etc...

Timing is everything.
Within two days of getting my 07 I pulled my oem floor mats up and installed my new set of Fox Weatherboots. I highly recommend them if you use your Corvette daily. I think I broke all of the oem snaps. I will not use my mats during my 3 or 4 years of ownership. I will try to click my snaps back together based on the info I read above.
Thank you. Better late than never.
