I was driving around today around dusk, and all of my interior lights, including the gauge cluster dimmed itself. The only way I can return them to full brightness is by cycling to the off button for the lights. Anyone have this problem or have any idea what the deal is? Sensor malfunction maybe?
Sounds like the lights were working properly. When it gets dark enough outside, the dash lights will dim. In addition, if you have the light stalk set to AUTO, the headlights will come on.
If headlamps are in the Auto mode, the headlamps will turn on automatically when the ambient light decreases to a predetermined level. If the IP cluster back lighting is too low, it can be adjusted, within limits.
Yea, i just got into the car now that it is dark out and realized that I was just being paranoid. I guess after reading about all the problems people have on here I was just waiting for something to go wrong.
Thanks for the quick responses, hope everyone has a good labor day!

Don't make it a self-fulfilling prophecy....sometimes you'll get what you're looking for
I think you'll find the vast majority of C6 owners have had no problems of any consequence. You tend to hear more of the problems in the forum (which is natural) rather than the 'all's going well' posts.
Yes, they're working properly. And if you've made it 2 weeks without something going wrong, you should feel good. Many of us didn't make it that long.
The voice of doom! Sorry about your bad luck, but lets not scare the new owner. Many Corvette "problems" are just the new (or old) owners lack of knowledge about what is normal since these cars are so complicated. Some items, like the key fob sensitivity, take a little getting used to (like a new job or wife ). Just mastering the NAV is a long learning curve. You have a warranty, relax and enjoy your Corvette, it will all work out just fine. Read all negative posts with a grain of salt so to speak. Some posters have an ax to grind and do so at every opportunity. This was quite a shock for me when I went from the C4 section to the C6 section. My C4 was crude and troublesome by comparison (I still miss it) but few posters were on a campaign to hang GM over it. I guess some thought 50 large gave you a perfect sports car. Like there is such a thing! Read other forums, all mechanical things can have problems, and do. My favorite is "Harley Tech Talk" It makes the Corvette seem perfect. Oil gushing out of the air cleaner? Or Honda. Broken frames on Goldwings? As a former MGB owner I used as a DD, believe me, things could be a lot owrse.

Not only that, but also, people on the forum are more informed. Take, for example, the TSB on the A6 hunting for gear between 30 and 50 mph. I drove my car for a couple months thinking it was perfectly normal until someone posted the TSB. So all of a sudden, you have a "problem" where you never thought you had one.
