If I plan to keep my C6 for 6 or 7 years, but I only put on 3000-3500 miles a year, how important is an extended warranty? I'd appreciate input from anyone who has owned low mileage Vettes over a number of years.
Congratulations on your first Corvette....drive safe and enjoy! Most often and with rare exception (such as expensive plasma TVs), extended warranties typically benefit the manufacturer, retailer and the insurance provider....not the consumer. That being said, if you don't plan on modifying your Vette and the extended warranty affords you extra peace-of-mind, I'd say buy it.

I keep my Corvettes a LOOOONG time (compared to most) (10 years on my '73 and 8 years on the C5) I had the extended warranty on the C5 (fortunately, never had to make a claim ) and fully intend to purchase the extended warranty on the C6 just prior to it turning 1 year old - so that I can get the maximum time out of the warranty. In 10 years, I might have 30K miles.
Of course, wnen the C7 comes out and is something that I just gotta have ...well at that point....
i would like to congratulate you on your first vette
look into diffrent option maybe one that has more years and less milage and increase deductable. to at least protect you from possible trans, motor, rear axle failure.
