I recently checked out what Consumer Reports had to say about the C6 and was concerned. They reviewed an 05 and gave it their lowest 'expected reliability' rating of 'very poor'. They had particular issues with the electrical system., Consumer Reports does not go beyond 2005 with their review
CR , as previously mentioned, is basing their opinion on the 2005 battery problem [DBS].
That problem has been cleared up and there are no recurring problems with the new Corvettes.

Unfortunately, Consumer Reports does not go beyond 2005 with their review so I'm trying to see how much the 2006/07 model years have improved? Has GM successfully addressed the issues that Consumer Reports points out? Any feedback would be much appreciated as I'd really like to determine if the reliability has been successfully addressed. Thanks
I have a 2005 coupe, got it in February of 2005 and have had no problems. It was recalled for the roof and so far so good. I have taken several trips from Jersey to Florida and back. The car is great. If you are into sports cars the Corvette is absoutely fun to drive you will never want ot get out of it and yes I am biased

Where did you see that. I read it and it said nothing about why it was "not reliable".
From what I read here there does not seem to be a problem with reliability.
Don't forget there are alot of people on here who abuse their cars and are real rough on them and it's there car they can do what they wish and do all the modifications but they cannot say its a unreliable car because of whatever they did to cause it to become that way when they changed it. There are always too sides of the story and here you only get one side which is the complainers.
10k on VR 05 vert. Bad fan module.Reflashed ecm for full sender. All at N/C. Fan Module went while pulling into dealership for new Bola install. How's that for luck?
I have an '05 C6, bought it Aug 20th. of this year, 14,000mi. I got to drive the thing for one day and had to return it to the dealer a day later. Electrical problems. Still not fixed to this day. Nice investment on my part? Maybe this doesn't happen to but one in every 100 cars, and I don't want to offend anybody elses opinion, but it happened to me.
I own a 2005 C6 4600 miles, Auto, smoked roof, non Z51. Not one problem to date, Except for all the attention If you never owned a Vette before such as myself but dreamed of the day that you would just buy the dam thing. You will not regret it, don't swet the little things. You could be killed crossing the street tomorrow and never had the chance to own a C6. Not all 2005s are junk, it's the luck of the draw. I hope you buy your car tomarrow.
If you're buying a refrigerator or washing machine check our Consumer Reports, but for reviewing cars, especially a high performance car like the C6, I wouldn't rely on their findings. 2005 C6 Vert absolutely no problems so far, coming up on 1 year on 9-27-06 7728 miles
How much you wanna bet if you go to an appliance bulletin board they are saying the same thing about their appliance reviews.
You give me any make and model of anything (motorcycle, snowmobile, automobile, bicycle or what ever) and I will show you some one who has had a "nightmare" of an experience regarding ownership - it is a numbers game.
If you want one - buy one. If you want security with your purchase, buy a washing machine with a ten year warantee. I don't know what the 1/4 mile times are on the washing machine - they are putting some NICE motors in them these days.
12,000 plus and no issues, not even DBS. My top is still good and my ash tray door stays closed. I bought the car with 4200 miles on the clock and couldn't understand why someone would sell such a nice car. Maybe they had problems but I have had none so far knock on wood.....go for it.
Consumer Reports, in my never to be humble opinion, is completely full of ****.
In 1989 we were in the market for a family car. I studied their recommendations carefully, and they were ga-ga over the Nissan Stanza. Said it was the best value for the money, yadda yadda.
Drove one and thought it was ok at best, but what do I know?? Hey, CR says it's great. Salesman was a PITA at best, sales manager was horrible, but CR says it's a So we bought it.
Worst car I've ever owned. Underpowered, horrible quality control, underpowered, wind noise out the ***, underpowered, windshield distortion, noisy, underpowered.....did I mention it was underpowered?
