I have read many of the color threads here and seen all the colors in person. The velocity yellow is the ultimate color for my particular taste, but is it too flashy?
I live in a pretty nice area, will be garaging the car every night and don't plan on leaving it in any bad places, but I don't want to draw too much attention to what is already a very attractive car. Have any of the yellow C6 owners seen what they would consider to be a higher level of vandalism?
Yellow will certainly turn heads, but I just don't want to be a magnet for freaks. I could be happy with the machine silver if I felt that the yellow might draw too much (destructive) attention.
Owning a Vette seems to draw a certain amount of attention, good and otherwise. But that won't matter the minute you hook it up and hit the accelerator.
i have velocity yellow and absolutely luv it. a thrill to the eyes every single day. obviously, you'll buy what you like, so i'll answer your question by sharing my experiences and you'll draw your own conclusions.
i've received a tremendous amount of positive attention. people yelling compliments from the sidewalk, from cars that pull up next to me at a light, from neighbors, relatives, coworkers. everybody raves about the looks of this car.
vandalism, no. but i had a very unpleasant experience 10 days ago in san francisco, the city of peace and love. while my wife and i were admiring a spectacular view of the bay, i turned around just in time to see a pervert driving by on a bicycle spit into my open-topped vert, which was parked across the street from us. would the same thing have happened if my car had been silver? i don't know. but i can tell you that in the 2.5 months i have owned my vette, that was my one and only negative experience.
good luck with your decision. you'll luv your vette either way.
