Default C6 Value ?

I must say that I am disappointed in the resale value of the C6.

I had decided to sell mine after 5 months and 3k Miles with no results.

Quite frankly I have had much better luck with numerous other cars and they had some signs of wear that this car does not have.

Its a great car, just dont try to sell it.

What methods of selling it have you used? You have to "get it out there".

It is the same as any other GM product. Always has been, always will.

I know this may be a shock but have you considered the fact that your expectations (read, asking price) are too high. I would guess that since it is only 5 months old and just 3k on the clock that you are asking near what you paid for it. Unfortunately, no one will come close to meeting those expectations. For some, 3k on the clock is three years of mileage for some owners.

Wow, I had thought that $10k off sticker was pretty good.

I can remember dropping $3k off a VW that was 6 months old and selling it in 2 days.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Try vettefinders.com...I listed mine there and sold it within 45 days...great site - one time fee of $39 bucks.

Good luck,
Bill

Is yours highly optioned? I've noticed the high option cars take a huge hit in value.

You gotta try more websites, I sold my 05 GTO within 2 weeks and it's considered a car noobody wants. I posted listings on autotrader.com (sold 2 cars using that site) and Vehix.com

Noone reads the paper anymore when looking for cars (at least not the computer literat) much more people browse online because they can search for the specific car they are looking for in terms of mileage, color etc

Price is also a big factor, my GTO was priced at 23,500 with 18K miles, the other GTO's online had asking prices of 27-30K and just sit there for months. If your car is priced right, you won't have a problem.

How much below a new one are you asking? Many can get supplier pricing and such? Would you rather buy a new one for about the same cost or less?

You're right it is. You hadn't mentioned what you were asking and I made an assumption.

I paid 23,000 for my 05 GTO in June of this year, for the money and power you cant beat the GTO. I plan on keeping my GTO for 2, 3 or so years, then i will hunt for a nice used Vett, maybe a 05 to 07 when the time comes!

Used Vett prices sure have not dropped like they have on the GTO.

Nice find, I was asking a tad more then book due to the HID's, exhaust, and 06 tails I had installed, but still lower then alot of other GTO's in the area.

I just ordered an 07 C6 optioned with what I feel I need for 43K thanks to GMID. That GMID availability is really hurting the used C6's out there. Also gotta keep in mind the 1st year is always the biggest drop in value for any car.

Dude..forget the "sticker". You are not a dealer so the sticker means nothing. Besides, I paid 8,800 below sticker for the 3lt, vert, F55. That was ordered for me. Does your pricing still make sense to you ?

How much was the VW to begin with...2k was what percent of the sticker ?

Default Price Level May Be a Factor Too

If the Vette is more expensive than the other cars you sold, that may also prolong the sale due to the smaller market size.
