Citgo
Chavez offered aid for Katrina relief, no middle east countries offered help.
When everyone was gouging us on prices Citgo was the last to raise gas prices and held to 10-12 cents lower than the majors in my area.
They can keep their politics but the CITGO 93 octane is a good gas at a good price.
The good news for people who would boycott CITGO is 7-11 stores have decided to drop CITGO as the fuel provider at 7-11 stores.

I agree!

Although Citgo may be owned by Petróleos de Venezuela, it is a formerly American company which is still headquartered in the U.S. (in Houston, Texas), employs 4,000 people, and supplies 14,000 independent retailers with gasoline and other petroleum products — Americans with no substantive connection to Venezuela who would be economically harmed by such an action. (Citgo also provides free or discounted heating oil to low-income communities and tribal reservations within the United States.) And, of course, in today's oil market Citgo's products will continue to find buyers whether or not they're purchased by Americans. http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/citgo.asp

Boycotting Citgo may bring one personal satisfaction and I know such efforts 'start with one,' but human nature being what it is, people will still buy fuel for price, quality and convenience....not politics. There are likely more effective ways our Country can respond. Pressure your representatives in Congress....they generally bend with the wind if they think it suits their own self-interests.
Fortunately for me, there are no Citgo stations in my immediate area nor can I recall ever buying gas at a Citgo station.

Plus they have telethons for terrorist organizations.
so I'll buy oil from Venezuela long before i buy from SA..
A guy who speaks his mind and has ~50% of Americans agree with him isn't a millionth as bad a country that supports terrorism and has had nationals attack us.
but to quote Dogbert: Oil is a fungible commodity. The capitalist system virtually guarantees that you'll end up buying the lowest cost oil from sources unknown to you.
I do not know if I have ever filled-up at a Citgo pump. But I definately will not as long as Hugo C is in office. Even if Citgo would sell 93 octane for $1.80/gal., I will not spend a dime to line the coffers of Hugo C.

As Chavez referred to the President as El Diablo at the UN yesterday, I'm just wondering if people will be consistent in their "boycott" efforts. From the sound of this thread so far, It doesn't look like it.
Hey, I'm not a Bush, Chavez, or Citgo fan, but find it interesting the different responses to two similar occurrences. Yikes, just realized this is getting political. Time to drive.

Doesn't anyone ever look at the threads that are already on the first page before they post another one just like it?
