Ok, I took some songs in ITunes and put them in a playlist to burn so that I could try out the MP3 in the car. For some reason, the car display lists each album a song comes from in its own folder, even though it is not that way on the CD (they are all just listed). Additionally, each folder is accessed by touching the folder listing directly below it. Kind of like the calibration is off yet inside the folders, if there is more than one song, the calibration is fine. Also, the very last folder cannot be accessed at all, pushing below it does nothing.
Does any of this even remotely make any sense? I've tried burning the disc's twice with the same result.
With Itunes before you burn your cd the ID tags have to be changed to version 1.0. You should sort your songs by album. And there is a 22 character limit (including track number) for all song and album titles. The C6's MP3 player is very unforgiving.
Thanks for the tips. ITunes is still storing (when burned) each album in a seperate folder. That wouldn't be all that bad but the head unit will not allow me to play the very last selection(folder). Also, selecting each album folder requires that I press the button for the album (folder) directly below the one I want to select. The button calibration seems to be right on for any other selection in any other function.

Weird, huh?
Thanks again,
Weird indeed!
I've stopped using iTunes to burn my CDs. It uses the ID Tag as a file name so you can't have a short file name and a long ID Tag. I now use Nero Burning Rom which gives me very good results. It does the name shortening automatically and gets rid of special characters. So every filen name is fine and the ID Tag remains as the original so it displays OK while playing the tracks.
The setting to use : IS 9660 only / 31 char max (level 2) / ASCII

You're welcome. I would try burning a test cd with some other software. If you get the same results it sounds to me there is something wrong with your Head Unit. I personally hate to take my C6 to the dealer unless I have no choice but it sounds like you need to. You may get a brand new head unit.
I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but when I first burned mp3 disks with itunes it just made one long list of songs without keeping them in albums. I found out you need to sort by album and then it worked right - a folder for each album and the songs in original order just like you are listening to the original CD.
Weird indeed!

I just purchased Nero7. Works good with those settings except if I use ASCII, it brain farts the machine and the program dies. But it still limits the length of the file name and the car does not seem to mind the underscores.

That's werid, ASCII works for me and I just don't want those underscores to show on the display.
So far I had no issues and I think this is still the best way to burn CDs.
